About Aquah Studio

Aquah Studio by John Indome, Ghanaian-Danish artist, b. 1990

Drawing inspiration from 80 and 90's graphic design and various art movements such as Pop Art, Op Art, Brutalism, Post modernism, Russian Constructivism, Aquah Studio is a new breath to the Danish scene of graphic art that challenges the well-known Nordic more minimalist style. On the contrary, pieces by Aquah Studio are meant to draw attention and "pop" in the spectator's eyes - "walls shall never be dull with his works" as he would say.

Colours are an integral part in bringing the works to life through quirky ways of connecting colours out of the traditional colour theories, fusing this with repitition of forms and patterns. Needless to say, John Indome has a sharp eye for how colours work, harmonize and help each other. He controls the colours, and yet, you can sense a sort of laissez faire approach as well. He simply wants to have fun as the works expand while he developed them.
